how i love my 88 civic hatchback. sadly, one of the front brake pads wore out enough to warrant a replacing, and not willing to take my life into my own hands, i took it to a mechanic. given the unfortunate reality that some pieces of most cars break just a little bit, over time, this wasn’t that bad a deal. i have reckoned the total money i have put in to this little beast starting with its purchase to clock in a bit under $2K. that includes purchasing price, plates and registration, insurance, repairs, and gasoline. even cheap cars get expensive, i guess, but i am happy that this one has been less expensive than more.
