i don't want to be seen as a pretty thing;
it's the pretty things we're always breaking

dead rabbits and dumbasses

actually, one of each. there’s half of a rabbit a few feet away from the sidewalk on the way in to work. i first noticed it a few days ago, while the mowers were doing their thing; at that point, it was probably freshly halved. there was a startling lack of blood in the whole situation; lea pointed out that it might have been dead when it took its little merry-go-round ride.

as for the other half of the title of this post, i locked my keys in my car today for the first time ever, which was a pretty sweet 4 second lapse of common sense that cost me $40 dollars and a smidgen of self esteem. ah well. as far as mistakes involving cars go, $40 is actually a pretty cheap one, and i’m sure i’ll be able to drum up some more self esteem somewhere. on the bright side, the next time i lock my keys in my car and i have access to a wedge and a metal coat hanger, i know how to get them out myself. sadly, i didn’t have access to either of these things at the post office, where the incident occurred.
